Cpl. Eugene Cole,

Bangor, Maine- Cpl. Eugene Cole was murdered by April 25, 2018 while serving his community as a sworn officer with the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department. The Maine Public Safety Pipe and Drum Corps. along with many other bands from around New England honored Cpl. Cole in services held at the Cross Insurance Arena in Bangor. Kyle Willett of Maine State Police Pipes and Drums  along with Pipe Major Michael Lundin of the Maine Public Safety Pipe and Drum Corps, coordinated massed pipes and drums for the service.

Corporal Cole’s death was the first LODD (Line of Duty Death) within the Law Enforcement community of Maine in many years. His death affected many throughout the public service community as well as the general community of Maine.

Thousands were in attendance to pay their last respects to officer Cole on May 7, 2018. The day came to a close with the last note of Amazing Grace, but officer Coles memory will live on.  Rest Easy Corporal, we’ll take it from here.
