
01/01/12 - The Corps wants to wish all our family and friends a Bliadhna Mhath Ur (Happy New Year) and Hogmanay. Thank you for a great 2011 and we look forward to more performances in 2012.
12/01/11 - The Corps' next performances will be at the Freeport Fire Station in Freeport and at Cabela's in Scarborough on Sunday, December 4. There will be a ceremony at each location to honor the convoy of trucks from Wreaths Across America as the wreaths make their journey from Maine to Arlington National Cemetery.
09/09/11 - The Corps has several 9/11 activities this week. We performed on the WCSH Channel 6 "207" show on 09/07 as part of their 9/11 coverage and had an article in the KeepMECurrent newspapers on 09/08 as part of their 9/11 coverage. We will be in Portsmouth, NH on 09/11 performing at a ceremony at the Pease Air National Guard Base and later at Rí Rá Irish Pub in Market Square.
08/21/11 - The Corps had a great time at the Maine Highland Games on Saturday, August 20. We played in the massed bands and posted/retired the Colors and performed our own gig. One of our highlights was playing a tune with Celtic rock band Prydein during their afternoon set. What a blast! Thank you to everyone who stopped by our sales table and helped support the Corps. Congratulations to Randy Cyr of Lewiston who won the fire truck pedal car raffle!
07/26/11 - On July 23, the Corps attended the New Brunswick Highland Games Festival in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. We performed with 16 other bands in the opening and closing ceremonies of Saturday's games. This was the largest Massed Bands the Games had ever had. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of the Games and the City of Fredericton!
07/10/11 - On July 9, the Corps played for the Wounded Heroes Ride that starts at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough and ends at Bentley's Saloon in Arundel. The ride raises money to help wounded veterans in Maine. We will be playing at Byrnes Irish Pubs on July 17 for the 8 Months 'Til St. Patrick's Day Party. Come join us for music and fun!
07/04/11 - On 06/29, the Corps played at the opening ceremony of the New England Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associations' Annual Conference in Meredith, NH. It was jointly put on by the NH and Maine associations, so a NH Police Honor Guard posted the Colors and we provided the music. On 07/04, we marched in the Heritage Days Parade in Bath, ME. It was a bit hot and humid, but the crowds were great.
06/19/11 - The Corps had a busy weekend. On Friday, June 17, we played at both Byrnes Irish Pubs in for the "9 Months 'Til St. Patrick's Day Party" and on Saturday, June 18, we marched in the Windham Summerfest Parade and played at Cabela's in Scarborough for the State of Maine moose lottery drawing. Great crowds and a fun time. Congratulations to tenor drummer Ellen Kyder on her promotion to Drum Corporal!!
05/31/11 - The Corps had the privilege of playing at the "flags out" ceremony at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta, ME on Saturday, May 28. On Memorial Day weekend, flags are placed on the graves of veterans at both veterans cemeteries in Augusta. On Monday, May 30, we performed in the annual Brunswick-Topsham Memorial Day Parade. Great crowds along the parade route!
05/22/11 - The Corps had the privilege of playing at the ceremony in Freeport, ME on Saturday, May 21 for the arrival of steel from the World Trade Center that will be used as part of a 9/11 memorial. A very moving event! On Sunday, May 22 we played for the Southern Maine Community College graduation at the civic center in Portland. Congrats to all the new grads!
03/18/11 - The Corps had a great St. Patrick's Day! On Saturday, March 12, we marched in the Blarney Days Parade in Bath and played at Byrnes Irish Pub after. On St. Patrick's Day, we played at Ri-Ra's and Bull Feeney's in Portland, ME and at Byrnes Irish Pubs in Bath and Brunswick, ME. We played to full houses and enthusiastic crowds. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us and to those who supported us by buying a Corps t-shirt. Slainte!
